Remus Horse Sanctuary is funded solely by public donation, it currently costs in the region of £300,000 a year to keep us afloat, which is an enormous amount of money to raise and more especially given the current financial crisis. We are constantly astounded by, and very grateful for, the generous support given to us by the public.
How do we do it?
We hold 6 Open Days during the summer months May to October, have workshops and events such as Horse and Pony days, afternoon teas, Ponies in the Community Scheme and we also run Sponsorship and Membership schemes, give talks to clubs and societies in and around Essex. Our extremely dedicated team of fundraisers constantly organise Sales, Quizzes, Raffles etc and run stalls at the Open Days.
