VOLUNTEER: CHILD ACTIVITIES HELPER

We are looking for responsible adults to help in this very interesting project, supervising the children under the guidance of our own staff. The work will be fun and interactive, involving crafts and other indoor or outdoor activities. Working with animals is not required.

All applicants must  be willing to have a CRB check.

If you like children and would like to spend a few hours helping them in the quiet confines of our sanctuary then please do call or email for more information.

VOLUNTEER: WORK PARTIES AT THE SANCTUARY - HELP NEEDED URGENTLY

There is always so much to do. Our staff and volunteers do their best but sometimes we are in desperate need of other help to get a bigger job completed.

Would you be interested in joining a work party? Dates to be arranged. It's hard work, sometimes dirty too but it's good fun and exercise and you will be of enormous help to us in improving the environment for our rescued animals. Your help will be much appreciated. You will need to bring stout shoes or wellingtons and a packed lunch. Please wear sensible clothing; no shorts or soft shoes.

VOLUNTEER: WELFARE OFFICERS NEEDED URGENTLY

There are so many calls about horses in distress that we are finding it difficult to keep up. We do investigate every single call but the strain of doing so whilst caring for the 200 or so animals at Remus is enormous. We are seeking to recruit volunteer  welfare officers to assist us in checking animals throughout Essex. A working knowledge of horses and their needs is essential. Additional training will be given.

Can you spare a few hours to help with this very important side of our work?

VOLUNTEER: ODD JOB PERSON

Do you have a few hours to spare weekly to help around the sanctuary? We have so many small jobs that need to be done. 

Duties would include: light  maintenance, cobwebbing, painting, cleaning, ground work (weeding, mowing, etc). Plenty of jobs to suit everyone, male and female.

Would suit fit retired persons.

VOLUNTEER: MARKETING AND PROMOTION PERSON

A position has opened up for a volunteer marketing and promotions person to assist us with increasing the awareness of the sanctuary and its work and the support that is needed, with both the wider public and business enterprise in Essex and beyond, to generate necessary funding to protect and ensure that the sanctuary will be financially viable in the years to come.

Would suit someone with previous experience in the marketing and promotion field who has a few hours weekly to spare, is able to work on their own and as a team member.

VOLUNTEER: GARDENER

Hours to suit.

Previous experience essential.

VOLUNTEER: MAINTENANCE PERSON

Hours to suit.

Duties include: painting, repairs, etc.

Previous experience essential.

VOLUNTEER: LABOURER 

Weekdays; hours to suit. 

Duties include: clearing weeds and droppings from fields, taking hay and water into fields, etc.

Previous experience essential. Could suit someone with farm hand experience. Ability to operate a tractor would be an advantage.
