Have you ever dreamed of owning your own horse or pony but feel you need guidance in the care and responsibility that comes with caring for these wonderful animals? Or maybe you have always felt slightly nervous and apprehensive around them and would like someone to help you overcome those fears? If so then our adult pony day on Sunday 26 May from 11am to 4pm could be just the thing for you! You will be allocated a horse or pony and you will be responsible for its care for the entire day.
The day will include:
- Health and Safety around equines
- Identifying temperament through body language
- Handling and restraint
- Cleaning stables and learning about different kinds of bedding
- Making up pony feeds
- Health checking
- Plus a tour of the Sanctuary to meet all of the residents!
The day will be informative and will give you an insight into the daily care required if you are considering getting a pony. You will receive a certificate at the end of the day and a picture of you with your pony. All proceeds from the day go directly to the Sanctuary to help with the continued care of the 200+ animals who live there. Spaces are limited to 6 people so early booking is advised.
For further information or to book by telephone, please contact the Sanctuary on 01277 356191 or book online.
