Description
This pony, just under a year old at the time, was dumped behind Buttsbury Church in 2018. She was totally feral and no one could get within 10-15 metres of her. At the time we’d had reports of two youngsters dumped in Tilbury, who were killed on the road, and one of two youngsters loose in Aveley was also killed, so we were keen that this little girl didn’t become a similar statistic.
The only way to catch her was to have her darted, which meant bringing in a specialist team costing us over £1000. She soon started to recover from the stress of being taken from her mum, dumped alone in the fields near a flooded river and road, and finally being darted and brought to a strange place.
