Davey’s Story
Brown Donkey Gelding
DOB 2000
Came to Remus June 2013
When this lovely donkey came to Remus it was clear that something was very wrong with him. He had a tumour visible outside of his body that was the size of a small melon. He was not eating and clearly depressed.
Poor Davey had a life-threatening penile tumour and was in urgent need of radical surgery in order to save his life, involving removal of the entire penile area. The surgery was estimated to cost around £5,000, a huge amount of money for us.
We started an appeal to save him, and we are just so grateful to everyone who donated to it. Davey had his operation and has never looked back. In fact, he had surgery on the Tuesday and incredibly was home grazing by lunch time on the Wednesday.
He has a very happy life now and will stay with his donkey friends forever. He is best friends with his mate Harvey and they are always playing together.
