Description
Archie, Oscar, Dusty and Drifter are four tiny Shetlands who, at less than a year old were being dragged around the country from market to market, before finally being saved from slaughter. When they were bought to our attention they were pathetic, emaciated, sickly scraps and full of infection. They were all in an extremely poor condition and suffering from ‘strangles’ – a highly infectious equine disease. They had been illegally castrated and had suffered so much.
Thankfully we were able to intervene and bring them back to the safety of the Sanctuary where they have thrived. They were terrified of people and needed much TLC to get them back to full health and to trust us. They have had many happy years with us now and, as you can see, all the hard work, effort and money has been worth it.
