Be Dog Friendly

Remus are proud to be five times winner of Be Dog Friendly (previously Open for Dogs) Best Place to Visit with your Dog category.

The Kennel Club are impressed with the open-house attitude we adopt to dogs at Remus events. It so nice to see owners able to have their dogs with them and be able to interact with them.

We run two fun dog shows during the Summer, at our July and September Open Days and these are proving ever more popular with the dog owners and the general public.

Dogs are welcome at almost all of the events held at the Sanctuary, we welcome many dogs and their owners especially to Our Sanctuary Open Days which we hold on the first Sunday of the month May to October inclusive. Dogs are allowed in all of the buildings and we have a new conservation path around the sanctuary where dogs really enjoy taking their owners for a lovely long walk.

The Be Dog Friendly scheme seeks to redress the balance in what is becoming quite a dog-unfriendly world.  How many times have you been turned away from events and places to walk, restaurants etc simply because you have your dog with you.

In order for the scheme to really make an impact and encourage yet more facilities to welcome our dogs, it is incumbent on all of us with dogs to take great care to respect premises, to clear up and also respect the views of others who may not quite share our love of dogs.

It is very exciting to see the Be Dog Friendly logo appearing on shop doors and various venues and know that we are a big part of the scheme.
